As a new entrepreneur, you are bound to make mistakes. Despite the probability of you making mistakes, there are certain factors you should put into consideration. Note that most startups tend to ignore these rules, and if you do, you are likely to see your startup going down the drain.
Nevertheless, the factors to put into consideration are
· Learn to build, validate and iterate
· Release your product early. Do not wait until you have that ‘perfect’ product. Just release the product, get feedback and improve on your product.
· Work with a good team that share in your goals: A good team can help you execute your idea better than when it is a single man job. Therefore, when hiring people to be part of your startup, choose the people that actually believe in your startup goals and vision. Hire people who are passionate to see your startup succeed.
· Organization is everything: As a startup, you must learn to be organized. Know what works and what does not work for your startup.
· Your idea is important but the execution is more important: Most people have great ideas but then they have terrible execution, which could lead to the downfall of one’s business. Just as your idea is important, your execution is more important to the success of your startup.
· Be a team player
· Be patient as patience is the key.
· Work using the lean method: As a startup, try your best to avoid unnecessary overhead costs. If you know that you can start your business through bootstrapping, please endeavor to do that than looking for investors.
If you are able to implement these factors, it will save you the stress of having serious issues with your business.
Nice one @Sophia. But I believe an essential thing every startup should know is that it is going to be cushy at all. So be prepared, determined and it's important to know that persistence is a vital thing to succeed in whatever line of business you choose.
